9. Monopoly is still my favorite board game. The only people who don’t like it just don’t follow the actual rules! Don’t put a free parking bonus until you want a world of pain! OGs only pay $75 Luxury taxes and only 10% for Income taxes

11. Once I got back to playing Monopoly, and for starters I was shocked to find out that all my life I was playing it completely wrong 😂

    But also that there are slightly different rules from European vs USA release, and regardless to that – the Monopoly rulebook is one of the worst rulebooks I have ever read.

    The reason, is that there are just SO MUCH STUFF that can happen between players that are not mentioned and not clarified in the rulebook…

    The rulebook is in fact, so badly written that players almost always end up coming up with their own rules in order to cover up all the details that the official rulebook doesn't know or mention.

    For that reason, it almost always sparks a flight between players, when someone is going to do something that is not covered in the rules, and someone is going to go mad at him, spoiling the fun and ruining everybody's time…

    The only way that I have found to enjoy Monopoly is the variation where whenever anyone lands, this property if free, will automatically be auctioned to all players, so whoever stepped into it can't just buy it. He / she has to take part in the auction.

    So this really makes the game interesting. But still, before playing you and your buddies better sit down and discuss what rules everyone knows, because that is the only way to see where people disaggre and save it before it happens!
