Legacy games… At least one! They’re the TV show of board games, because they change over time. Progressive rule complexity makes it interesting for parents and provides a measured rate of learning for kids. People will get bored of contained experiences at different rates. Legacy fixes that, and the family game night fixes legacy’s “you need a consistent group” problem. Zombie Kidz Evolution does this perfectly (for 5+ year olds). Introduces co-op, turn taking, powers, consequences, and trade-offs.
No everdell?!?!?

Haven't played Planted, Butterfly, GFTH, Archeology, Trekking through History, or Dice Throne yet, so I can't comment on these. Instead of Forbidden Island I would have picked Pandemic. Instead of Cascadia I would have picked Wingspan. Instead of Junk Art I would have picked Ice Cool. Instead of Can't Stop I would have picked Schollen Rollen. Instead of Yinsh I would have picked Santorini or LYNGK. Marvel United and El Dorado weren't for me. The rest I own and agree with (7 Wonders Architects, Point Salad, Downforce, Onitama, Codenames, Ticket to Ride, Just One, King of Tokyo, Insider, Love Letter, Dixit, For Sale).

Great lists all of them.
To make the suggested collection ages better, I prefer these changes : 7 Wonders (any of them) -> Sushi Go Party , For sale -> Century (2+) or Jaipur (2) , Codenames -> Decrypto (Everybody has the chance to give hints and not limited to a single word or even words in general) , Junk art -> Tuki, Downforce -> Camel up or Bad Company.
plus, four additions:
+ An easy sth and write game such as trails of Tucana or even maybe Capitan Sonar
+ Azul (OG)
+ A simpler non-consequential co-op game such as Hanabi (you don't want a group of non-gamers feel lost all together because of a game. You will dump such a game as soon as you can)
+ a good simple deduction game for the moments your guest feels pretty smart such as Deception of Cryptid

I am going to have to buy Onitama because I need that boost in class and Feng Shui – that comment made me lose my shit

Oi Tom! I for one thought Barnes and Noble was a department store until that was cleared up here 😉🇦🇺🌏

“10 GAMES THAT SHOULD BE IN EVERY AIR BNB.” Think about it, all types of people travel. They travel in different group sizes. They have different interests. You need something for everyone and anyone.
Cheers!
Let’s all please stop calling Downforce a racing game just because it has cars in it that happen to be participating in a race.
Why do I watch these videos? I don’t agree with any of these picks except Dice Throne.
My 10:
Imperius
Treasure Hunter
New York 1901
Dice Throne
Medici
NEOM
Splendor
Targi
Muse
Stockpile
I recently realized that Dice Throne will seem simple to any person who has already played games: Mtg, any fighting (because of the duel part, and the asymmetric fighter thing) or rpg game (talking attacks and upgrades, status effect and others).
Because to those people, the concepts that come from these games are simplified and mixed up in Dice Throne.
To any other person who doesn’t play much these types of games, Dice Throne is full of alien concepts and can seem overwhelming, I managed to teach it to three persons, all reactions were different depending on how much of the core concepts could resonate with people’s gaming experience. But I could teach this game to a friend without having the game in front of us, because he has played a lot in his life. Simply put, Dice Throne looks like an easy game, but in geeks’ eyes only.
Hey great video. Can you please recommend a board game that can be played together with a Smartphone? Like Kids Chronicles…
You should watch America’s Test kitchen, what’s eating Dan? On Cauliflower. When cooked it has a lot of complex flavour compounds that get released at different times, might be possible to avoid those bitter tastes and get the nutty flavours?
Title should say "Top10 (×3)"
wtf,,, or should i shout W>>>TTTT….FFFFFFfffff never click of a video quicker
Why no timestamped chapters? Don't be lazy
I agree Wear Words is too geeky. Tried playing with my girlfriend and parents, did not go over well. Even after 3 rounds, no one enjoyed it and it never quite clicked with the group.
I usually like your videos, but this is ridiculous. You should make another video with an actual 10 game list. It shouldn't take more than 5-8 mins to provide the list and a small explanation. Not gonna spend 72 mins watching a video for your 10 game list.
Top 10 Games I expect you to have when you tell me you're a gamer
Mike “top 10 games to give to your Grandmother” yes! Need the list!
I love these lists and all, but this list, as some have said already, assumes that one’s home has only children or folks who can’t decipher a rule book longer than a page. Which is fine, but perhaps the list name should be different, like “games to introduce to non-geeks”
I think I'm gonna name my goblin Plushie from the DT Kickstarter Jedediah 😂
Ghost fighting treasure hunters is a blast! Great pick Zee. I would also include Forbidden Island, Azul, Carcassone, Stone Age, sushi Go Party, Wingspan, Catan, Ticket to Ride. Funny enough about 8 years ago my intro game was Bohnanza that led me to this hobby…and dont knock me for Wingspan its really easy to learn and very informative as well.
Consider just saying the next game instead of hinting for five minutes at what the game is.
Coup>>>>love letter. The Brazilian edition have a great simbology method. And please, easy, EASY to learn.
Why the Dice Throne hate? It's a solid pick
Codenames Duet is the best of the bunch.
Did Zee lose a bet? Why is he holding the baseball?
Jedediah is a name. Just not a very good one
No particular order here
Similo
Hey, That's My Fish
Sushi Go Party
Codenames
Skull King
Jamaica
Tokaido
Pursiut of Happiness
Biblios
Azul
When Mike started his nr 9 with comparing his pick with Yahtzee my kind instantly went to “zombie dice”. I don’t know the regulair dice throne but I found marvel dice throne a bit complex and needlessly fiddly.
Marvel United… $17 in US… £40 in U.K.
I played ticket to ride once and I couldn’t stand it. That game is just 100% turn angst.
Ghost fighting treasure hunters is a game I want but not for ebay prices
Thanks for the content! You guys always crack me up, really feels like I'm hanging out with buddies
You all are so funny together. Great video!
"I tried not to include anything geeky"… jumps right into the most geeky things like Marvel, dice chugging combat and cards with terrible graphics and tiny texts.
I really like this list because it gives me ideas what I could my parents introduce to. What really sticked with them is Azul (the glassmakers from sintra) and this (or more likely the first Azul) something that could have been a very valid entry in my opinion.
Love your You Tube game page! Keep it up. Could you help us with our NEW BOARD GAME on Kick Starter? We have developed a board game and everything is ready for printing – TABERNACLE OF YAHWEH – THE BOARD GAME. We would love your feedback and review and when it is completed, we would love to send you a copy to review. We're more than happy to answer any questions.
I love like Zee can go from absolute chill to crazy in milliseconds 😅
Jedidiah is a name
